This is one of my favorite lessons of all time! It is an election simulation that I created. I love teaching students about their right to vote and the importance of leadership! This election is for a classroom mascot, and is between giraffe and zebra.
Students registered to vote, visited their polling location, and bubbled in their ballots!
Students watched the campaign videos I made through a website called Go Animate. The students heard speeches from both candidates, Giraffe and Zebra.
We registered to vote!

It feels great to exercise our right to vote! We wore our "I Voted" stickers proudly.
The results are in... Congratulations to our new classroom mascot, Giraffe!
We counted the votes and watched the "live" poll results come in, just as we would on television during a real election. We practiced our counting, tallying, graphing, and comparison skills, too!
Students learned about our country's presidents on Presidents' Day.
Students researched different presidents and used their findings to complete a Step Inside video using ChatterPix.
Students engage with maps and geography while practicing coding and sequencing skills with Bee-Bot. I received my Bee-Bot through a Donors Choose project!

No matter our skin color, we are all the same on the inside! Students celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his powerful message.
